Travel to Pinewood

Travelling to Pinewood Studios is fairley simple via personal transport: Car, Van, Minibus, even bicycle. Yet by Public Transport: Over ground Rail, Underground & Bus, it is quite a challenge, especially if one hasn’t done this trip before.

I found myself in this situation, April 2017

This post was created to ease the struggle of finding the best way to get to, that all important “Costume Fitting” or Crucial “Call Time”  specifically from Central London.

This post is assuming that [your] production has made a transit bus available to and from Uxbridge Station … Check with your agency, just incase.

Uxbridge
Uxbridge Underground Station

My first [out bound] journey, for a Costume Fitting, took 2 1/2 hours. Travelling home sliced and hour off this first trip.

Call time: 12:00
Left Home SE13: 08:45
12 minutes to DLR
30 minutes Train to Bank
5 minute transfer to Central line
12 minutes to Holborn
NO INTER CHANGE BETWEEN CENTRAL & PICCADILLY LINE – UNTIL AUGUST 2018
Transfer to Piccadilly Circus – on foot
Trains to Uxbridge few and far between – First @ 10:17
11:12 Arrived Uxbridge.
Note: I gave myself an hour from central London to Uxbridge. This estimate is based upon taking either Piccadilly Line or Metropolitan Line,
Uxbridge Station – Collection point is out front and not at the bus station side. Normally, parked opposite the Flower stand.
Best transfer point is Finchley Road or Baker St. But realistically anywhere along the Piccadilly or Metropolitan is fine.
